The Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) is the national governing body for Taekwondo in India, recognized by the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India in 1988.
It was established on August 2, 1976, to promote and develop Taekwondo in the country.
The TFI is affiliated with various international and national bodies, including the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), and several state and other sports control boards.

Our Story
The Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) is the official national governing body for taekwondo in India, established in 1976 and recognized by the Indian Olympic Association.
It is responsible for promoting the martial art through competitions, training courses, and events. The TFI plays a crucial role in developing Taekwondo at the national level, ensuring technical standards, and providing opportunities for athletes and officials.
We have 39 affiliated members i.e. State Associations and Central Organizations like SSCB, CRPF, CISF, All India Police Control Board, etc. Our sports has been recognized by almost all National level Academic Organizations like Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, CBSE, Navodaya Vidyalaya.
